Biography
Mr. Ben Dhanio is a Chinese comedian who has been active in the world of stand-up comedy for more than a decade. His Chinese identity is often a source of inspiration in his material, delivered in a style that is honest, intelligent, and full of humor.
Before focusing on the stage, Ben was an English teacher. His teaching experience gave birth to many funny stories, including the legendary performance on Kompas TV's SUCI IX about racist students in online classes, which gave him the highest score and made his name even more recognizable.
Ben is also the founder of Batavia Jokers, a stand-up community that is still active today. He performs in both Indonesian and English, and has even performed at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, one of the biggest arts festivals in the world. Not only that, but he also recorded a historic moment when he became the opener for Pandji Pragiwaksono's “Mens Rea Jakarta” special at Indonesia Arena, in front of more than 10,000 audiences, a major achievement in his comedy career.
